“BIC Hackathon” competition organized by Boston Center for Information and Technology at Boston International College in Bharatpur, Chitwan has started.
The competition, which will run until November 4th at Boston International College, was started today by the Associate Director Pushpa Raj Adhikari by lighting the lamp in Panas. Twelve teams are participating in the 48-hour continuous hackathon program. United Tech Club, Team Lumbini, Pituardy, Boston Team, Glitcade, BKC, D Primitives, CCT, Team Pokhara, Team CCT(BCI), Abiskar, Skyrider participated in the competition. Competitions are being held on tourism, health, agriculture, education, development research.
The first, second and third prizes of the competition will be Rs. 20, 15 and 10,000 respectively along with running shield and certificate. Marketing Manager Sangpu Shakya said that Rs 5,000 will be awarded to the best team. He said that it is believed that besides developing technical skills, it will also help in the development of technical companies by promoting it as a culture.
The word hackathon is a combination of “hacker” and “marathon”. Where “hacker” is a clever programmer and marathon is coding patiently within a limited period of time. Hackathon is a social coding event.
Boston Center for Information and Technology Club Mentor Subhas Khatiwada made a speech in today’s opening program.
